awaiting mom's diagnosis

Post a new topicby krisacrn on Tue Dec 08, 2009 12:40 am

My mom had a CT scan for shortness of breath, It showed "marked" growth in all the bones in her chest cavity and she is being referred to a medical oncologist I'm and RN and here is where playing connect the dots gets me in trouble. She has pain in her spine and shoulder. Her sodium levels have been low and unregulated so they also want a kidney specialist, she has been falling a lot recently. These all different areas of the body, kidney, spine shoulder brain, with a probable expectation of a bone cancer diagnosis, since she has had cancer twice before. Am I reasonable to expect a short outcome? She has stated she will not undergo chemo or radiation.
