A surprise diagnosis of stage 4 colon cancer partnered with me to welcome the new year of 2006! With just a few symptoms, surprise is putting it mildly.

Disappointment came in Feb. 2009 when some lung “spots” lit up on a cat scan welcoming me back to the world of treatment. After 7 months of Erbitux &Irinotecan these 2 wonder drugs had no effect on the so called spots....Read the full article

I wish you well with your next round of treatment, I am sure this cancer journey sometimes takes longer than we plan. My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer end August last year (age 50) and like you, wasn't particularly unwell, just symptoms of what the dr thought was a kidney or bladder infection. How can this disease be so advanced with so little symptoms, very scary? The tumour had completely blocked his colon within a couple of days of diagnosis and he had surgery to remove the tumour and surrounding lymph nodes. Both sides of his liver were full of tumours but after 3 rounds of chemo, the tumours are shrinking and after 4 rounds, one of his liver function tests is back to normal and the other two not far off. He feels fine otherwise. You say you feel fine, and people say you look fine, my husband is the same. It is really hard to accept a 'stage 4' diagnosis when that is the case. Good luck with your next round of treatment, I am sure your otherwise 'good health' will put you in credit to start with!
