T cell leukemia causing Thrombocytopenia

Post a new topicby peter williams on Thu Oct 30, 2008 7:57 pm

When I was 49 I was diagnosed with I.T.P I am now 66 and am diagnosed with Granulating Tcell leukemia the result being that when my lymphocyts are a bit high my platelets go low my normal platelet count is about 35. If I get even a common cold the count drops to single numbers my problem is do I risk having a flue jab or not as I do not know what my immune system would do with the injection I fear that it would get over enthusiastic and crash my platelets. Likewise with an antiviral jab for pneumonia Has anybody got the problem? and what did you decide any help most welcome.

Thanks folks

Stay well

Pete
